Hi,
this might sound so strange. The whole story. We are a real real patchwork family and everything is working out pretty fine. My husband has 2 children with another woman. We are happy. She is happy with her new husband and also got a baby. As actually everything is working out pretty well we told her that when the children are with us and they want some time for themselves we can also look after her baby. No problem so far and both were really thankful. So now she called me that they would love to go on a short trip for 2 days in a few weeks and if this was still okay that we would look after the baby. She even asked me as she wanted to also use formula to feed her baby and also in preparation for the weekend if I can recommend some baby formula. Suddenly I was scared and doubtful if this all would work out and if every thing would be okay. Thinking about holding the baby and feeding it feels so strange right now.
I didn't talk about this with my husband because I think this is just a little phase because when I rationally look at it everything really is fine.
I'm also so confused that I couldn't recommend a formula even though I also formula feed my daughter. Yes I have a daughter too.

when I just read your post I know everything is going to be just fine. You are a big patch work family but in general you sorted out the situation very well. I like this a lot as I know other families where patch work doesn't work at all - what makes my actually very sad when I think about the children. I can also understand that you are confused but I'm pretty sure everything is going to be okay again. Why should it suddenly stop working. I can also understand that you are overwhelmed right now, there are periods in our lives when we are confused - that's pretty normal!
